Hester’s Granite

Hester's GraniteHester’s Granite Quarry was started in the late 1940’s by Mr. Leland Hester. Mr. Hester operated the quarry until 1978 when he sold it to the current owners.

The quarry property is approximately 94 acres with over 20 million tons of aggregate reserves. The property has both vested “grandfathered rights” and a Major Use Permit for both a concrete and asphalt plant.

Currently the operations of the quarry are leased to Hanson Aggregates and the recycling operations on the property are run by J.Cloud Inc

At this time San Diego County has approximately 14 operating quarries of which 6 have “Vested Rights”. The County of San Diego has granted only one permit for a quarry in the past 20 year.
